Apple iPad Air 2 GPU tested, outclasses Tegra K1

Someone has put the Apple iPad Air 2 through GFXBench's 2.7 T-Rex and 3.0 Manhattan's onscreen and offscreen (1080p) platform and we get to ogle at the framerates posted.
The results show the iPad Air 2 is just as good and even at times better than the promising Tegra K1 chip and its Kepler GPU, which was the previous graphics champ.
The scores below show the iPad Air 2 beat the Tegra K1 in both offscreen tests - the same tests that are both capped at 1080p and indicate the raw power of the GPU.
The onscreen tests offer less framerate because of the above-1080p native resolution of the iPad Air 2 but it still managed to pull ahead of the Xiaomi Mi Pad 7.9 which has the same screen resolution and Nvidia's latest chip inside.

iPad Air 2 benchmark reveals 3-core CPU and 2GB of RAM

Apple iPad Air 2 made a trip to the popular Geekbench benchmark and revealed juicy bits about itself. The freshly announced full-size tablet from Cupertino sports 2GB of RAM and rather curious 3-core CPU.
While 2GB of RAM are hardly a surprise due to a number of leaks that suggested the memory bump, the CPU setup surely is a curious one. Past iPad models have stuck to a dual-core CPU.

iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3 get confirmed by Apple

Just as Google was busy announcing its new Nexus family, Apple managed to confirm the names of the two new tablets that it will introduce at its special event tomorrow.
They will be the iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 3, the latter being the successor to the iPad Mini with Retina Display from last year and thankfully returning to a more concise naming scheme.
